Back from the Bahamas

We spent last week at Cable Beach, Nassau, Bahamas enjoying good food, good drinks, sunshine and surf. A honeymoon of sorts (in typical Army fashion, we only had two days after our wedding before Clay had to report back to base), it was nice to escape and just relax after spending 16 months apart. The weather was gorgeous all five days with the temperature in the 80’s and a nice breeze…no bad weather in sight. The locals were wonderfully nice and we really enjoyed the beach and walking around the capital district of The Bahamas.

We’re not sure if this tattoo parlor is taking the right advertising approach…it reads: Anna Nicole and Howard Stern came to the Tattoo King for tattoos of Danylynn, Daniel and Anna. See one of Anna’a Tattoo by The Tattoo King.

Outside the Foreign Ministry. It was so different seeing understated buildings for the national government…a sharp contrast to the majority of governments around the world.

An estimated 3.3% are living with HIV/AIDS in the Bahamas…we found this sign humorous but yet effective

Promotion Ceremony

Yesterday morning Clay was promoted outside the Squadron building. I was able to pin (velcro?) his new rank on his uniform while his company commander pinned the new rank on his beret.
