Right now Bostonians are side-eyeing those of us in the national capital region because the first significant snowstorm of the season shutdown the federal government and closed area schools. Yup – we woke up this morning to six inches of snow (SNOW!!!). By this time of year during our Fort Drum days we were praying for spring but life in the mid-atlantic has us wishing for more snow than nature tends to deliver. But today – SNOW!!!
It wasn’t the 8-10 inches originally predicted but it was fine and powdery and lots of fun. Our families in North Carolina and Georgia got hit with lots of ice so we definitely got the better end of this storm.
Lucy and I went for a walk in the woods. It was absolutely perfect.
After shoveling, Clay went into work and I did exciting things like laundry and scrubbing bathroom sinks while fetching milk and pretzels for the little dictators who live with us. When Clay returned, I headed into town to run a couple of errands. The roads were absolutely fine and I totally felt like Elaine Benes driving on the near empty roads – wide lanes, so luxurious.
